Meta Snapshot 6/22/2026
Greetings honored battle brethren! Another weekend has passed, so it's time for news of how our fellow Dark Angels players performed at the tabletops. It was a low intensity weekend, with only 8 big events, but one of them, Edmonton Open, was quite big with 267 players. Nonetheless, there was not a big pool of Dark Angels players over the weekend. One point of interest is that a handful of events were our first 11th edition events. and it's to one of those 11th edition events that we owe this week's only list review.
I apologize for this article being out a day late. A friend introduced me to Dispatch, and I binge-played it all the way through twice over Monday and Tuesday. Can't decide if I'm Team Blazer or Team Visi, but I got it enough out of my system to be able to do other things now.
The list in question belonged to Kyle Myers, who went 4-1 and took 2nd out of 30 players at GDG Summer Ruin II Warhammer 40K GT (11th Edition) held in Slatington, PA. Kyle's list used the Company of Hunters and Darkflight Pursuit detachments. You can see Kyle's list on BCP. We'll check it out below.

Ravenwing Black Knights: 6 awesome plasma biker boys - attached to RWCS

Land Speeder Vengeance: Nightforged Battery

Storm Speeder Thunderstrike
Eversor Assasssin
Kyle's list seems to be built on the Fast Gun Good premise, with a lot of movement and a lot of firepower. The Company of Hunters detachment has always supported that play style, with all units in the list able to Shoot after an Advance or Fall Back move. Being able to add the Darkflight Pursuit detachment to the mix adds Ignores Cover to all the shooting platforms with Fly, plus gives access to a decent Enhancement for Land Speeder Vengeances (able to reroll number of shots and hazard rolls) and some decent strats, including a reactive move strat that triggers after an opposing unit has shot at a skimmer.
Kyle's list doesn't lack for punch in the Fight phase either. There's Lion Dad, and while he may have lost some power with the Fights First nerf, will still do a real good job deleting practically anything he can touch while being a useful buff piece, and he is nice to have in a list to disincentivize opponents making Surge moves by making him the closest unit. Additionally, Kyle included Sammael with a small unit of Outriders to attach him to so he gets that sweet Damage 3 when he charges, and full bricks of Ravenwing Knights with Command Squads attached can also do pretty good work, particularly when charging Monsters or Vehicles. Plus, there's the Eversor Assassin, which is a nutty little tech piece with Precision on all his attacks, and whoo boy does he get a lot of attacks.
The Dispositions of Kyle's list are Reconnaissance and Disruption. I don't know too much about dispositions yet, but according to Toby Bennett on Tactical Rock 40K Disruption is the easier of the two to play. From my one whole game of 11th, it strikes me as being like Take And Hold with extra steps. You'll definitely want some action monkeys in a Disruption list. In Kyle's list, the Land Speeders are potential action monkeys, with a 14" Move characteristic and Fly. Plus he has Infiltrators and the Phobos Captain, the latter of which gives him some redeploy options.
Kyle got his event off to a good start, pummeling Freebooter+More Dakka Orks 97-72 in the 1st round. 2nd round he scored a comfortable 92-76 against Conceited Emperor's Children. 3rd round he took a punishing 61-100 loss against Hexwarp+Sekhetar Thousand Sons. 4th round he bounced back, obliterating Mont'ka T'au 100-21. 5th round he crushed Kauyon T'au 100-40. Well done Kyle!
A Peek At 11th Edition
A small handful of events used 11th edition over the weekend. That small number of events generated quite a variety of detachment combinations. In addition to Kyle's list, there was a Darkflight Pursuit+Dark Age Arsenal+Fulguris list, an ICTF+Librarius list, a Lion's Blade+Librarius list, and a Bastion+Librarius list.
Honorable Mentions
Cam Diamond went 5-3 and took 57th place out of 267 players at Edmonton Open 2026 with his Wrath of the Rock list.
