Chapter Update: 5/26/2025

Greetings battle brethren! I thought Memorial Day weekend might be a slow weekend for events, but it turns out to have been the opposite! The holiday for us in the U.S. does give me the day off to work on the Chapter Update. I wish I had more to tell you about with this amount of time, but there are a couple lists to bring to your attention. I'm drawing my information from Meta Monday . I encourage you to check them out for yourselves. The first list for our discussion was played at the German Super Major 2025 40K, a 5-round event with 290 players. Jan Reisenauer went 4-1 with his Company of Hunters and took 16th place. You can see Jan's list on BCP, and we'll discuss it below. Jan's list Azrael - Warlord Sammael Lieutenant with Combi-weapon Ravenwing Command Squad: Recon Hunter Ravenwing Command Squad: Master of Manoeuvre Outrider Squad: 3 choppy biker boys Outrider Squad: 3 choppy biker boys Outrider Squad: 3 choppy biker boys Centurion Devastator Squad: 3 chonky s...

Chapter Update 5/19/2025

Hello battle brethren! I've decided to use Chapter Update as the title to my weekly blog entry, as it's a broader title I can use when there are no lists to talk about. I hope that doesn't happen very often, but when it does I can at least discuss the statistics from the weekend past. We do have some lists to discuss however. I'm excited to tell you that an Unforgiven Task Force won an event! In addition to that, a Company of Hunters list went X/1, as did a Stormlance Task Force.   Edit: Meta Monday incorrectly identified the winning list as a UTC, and in some fairness Conor's list entry on BCP doesn't include the detachment. His winning list was actually a Stormlance. Let's take a look at these lists and see what we can learn from them. The obvious thing to do is to start with the event winning list, so we'll do that. At the Winchester 40K GT - May 2025 in England, Conor McNama of South London Legion brought his UTC  Stormlance and his boss energy and w...

Hello battle brethren! Unfortunately I don't have any lists to share with you today. That's not to say that Dark Angels lists didn't do well over the weekend, because according to Meta Monday three did. However, I can't find them. Meta Monday only has a listing for one of them, Master Neptune Warhammer, and I can't find that event on BCP. That leads me to believe it's listed by some other aggregator, but the only two I'm aware of are BCP and Miniheadquarters.com, and an event with that name is not listed in either. I went through all the events BCP has listed and I didn't find any DA lists that went X/1. No shade at Meta Monday, they're doing an enormous amount of work on a weekly basis on basically a hobby basis. I'm just letting you know why there's no list discussion this week. That being the case, we'll jump to statistics. Statistics According to Meta Monday, it was not a great week for Dark Angels as a whole. We had 20 players who ...

Hello battle brethren! We've been through another weekend, and with it I bring you the First Legion Dark Angels news. Meta Monday is in the middle of a format change, so I'm having to go through event listings one by one to look for the top Dark Angels lists. The first one I stumbled across was played at The Collectors Market - Drop Bear Gaming 40k GT played in QLD, Australia, a 5-round, 28 player event. Mat Dorey went 4-1 with a Stormlance Task Force and took 3rd place. You can see Mat's list on BCP, with our discussion of it below. Dark and Stormy Azrael - Warlord Lieutenant with Combi-bolter Ravenwing Command Squad Assault Intercessor Squad: 5 choppy boys Intercessor Squad: 5 bolter boys Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs: 5 flying choppy boys Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs: 5 flying choppy boys Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs: 5 flying choppy boys Ballistus Dreadnought Deathwing Knights: 5 awesome chonky swordy boys Deathwing Knights: 5 awesome chonky m...
