Greetings honored battle brethren! Once again I am here to bring you the news of the legion's chapter's triumphs from the past weekend. I'm happy to report that four lists went X/1 over the weekend, and each one used a different detachment. What a difference from when I first started this blog and all the lists were Ironstorms that were only Dark Angels lists by virtue of having a Darkshroud and Azrael in them! The best performing list of the weekend was a Gladius, played by Russell Amott of Big Marge's Brigadiers. His Gladius list took 4th place at The 2026 Swordwind Winter Grand Tournament, a 5-round, 45-player event. You can see Russell's list on BCP. We'll discuss it below.  Swordwind GT Lion Dad - Warlord Azrael Lieutenant with Combi-weapon Intercessor Squad: 5 bolter boys Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs: 5 flying choppy boys Bladeguard Veteran Squad: 3 awesome swordy-boardy boys Deathwing Knights: 5 awesome chonky macey boys Eradicator Squad: 3 cho...

Hello honored battle brethren! Another weekend has gone by, and over that weekend many of our brethren have battled it out with those who would challenge the supremacy of the First Legion Dark Angels chapter. It was slow compared to last weekend, with only about 75% of the players from the weekend before. Unfortunately, it also wasn't a good weekend for us, with no lists that went undefeated or went X/1.  For some reason, BCP decided to hide the Texas Open from me. I didn't know it had been held till someone posted about it on the Angelis Mortis Discord server. I had to put "Texas" in may search parameters to get BCP to show the event. That big-time mattered, because we in fact had two X/1 lists and an event-winning undefeated lists, all from the Texas Open. The Texas Open was a 6-round, 166-person event held in, to no one's surprise, Lewisville, Texas. Dark Angels dominated that event, with DA lists taking 1st, 4th, and 7th places. The event champion was Cam H...

Greetings honored battle brethren! I'm back from hiatus to bring you the weekend's Dark Angels news. I haven't written an article for the past few weeks because there just wasn't a lot to write about. There just weren't that many events for the last few weekends of the year, and the one list that would have made the cut was discussed by the player on the Dark Angels Competitive group.  The number of events picked back up last weekend, with a corresponding increase in Dark Angels being played. There were actually six lists that went X/0-X/1, across multiple different detachments. Here we'll do a breakdown of the top list of each detachment, with the rest getting honorable mentions. We're starting with the Wrath of the Rock detachment, which I think is fair to say is the general purpose detachment we should have gotten in our codex instead of the Unforgiven Task Force. It remains the most popular way to play Dark Angels by a wide margin, and our best performin...
